Close-up of San Pedro and Ambergris Caye Fishing Area

As you can see from the map, the San Pedro and Ambergris Caye region is quite large. There are many flats, sand bars, lagoons, and inlets, running up to the Mexican border, that hold excellent numbers of bonefish and tarpon. Guests should be ready with rods set for both species so that if one suddenly appears while fishing for the other, the switch can be easily made.
The flats around Savannah Caye are excellent for tarpon as are those near Mosquito and Crab Caye. Working north, guests can expect to fish miles of productive white sand flats as well as countless lagoons and inlets along the Ambergris coastline. These inlets will produce both juvenile tarpon and the hard fighting snook. Jacks, barracudas, and permit are just a few of the other species that anglers will get shots at. To the south of Ambergris Caye (not shown on the map) there are many excellent places to fish, including Caye Caulker, Caye Chapel, and Hicks Caye.
