Rangauna Island Bonefish Camp

Because Ranguana Island is located right on the world famous Barrier Reef, the fishing opportunities are incredibly varied. Those anglers looking to focus on bonefish will be thrilled with quality of the bonefishing right off of the island. The Sapodilla Island Marine Reserve, located just a half-hour south by boat, is also a fine bonefish destination and makes an excellent day trip. When heading north to fish the ecellent permit flats
in the area, consider stopping off at Moho, Buttonwood, Little Water, and Rendezvous Caye for more bonefish action. Your guide will likely ask if this is an option you’d like to explore.
The reef system around Rangauna Caye acts as a highwayor fish magnet and hosts an incredible number of species. Large schools of jacks lurk just off the island looking to ambush the unbelievable number of baitfish that find sanctuary in the shallows near the reef. It’s quite a sight and feeling when you’re witnessing jacks and barracudas crashing into schools of bait-fish as your trembling hand fumbles through your fly box looking for just the right fly. Large kingfish and wahoo can be taken outside the reef, along with tuna, grouper, and billfish. If Bluewater Fly fishing appeals to you, please check our Bluewater equipment page for the proper gear
